New Year’s Eve

“I just knew you would be glad I didn’t pull out the thistles!” Sprite told me “Now Angus McTvitter is happy and we can celebrate New Year!”

“The Memory Elephant brought me a calendar for next year and said I really need to get organized and remember what day it is and when events will happen.”

“Did you make any other New Year’s Resolutions?” I asked.

“No” said Sprite “I asked the Dabrowski Dogs for help and they said they tried to do that last year!”

“But I have set up a table for you in the lobby.”

A New Year for the #gtstoogies

All is in readiness in the lobby for the gathering of the #gtstoogies after the first #gtchat sessions for 2011.
The food is a healthy low cal selection of vegetarian wraps and sandwiches for those who have made New Year resolutions regarding eating healthy low cal food and the chocolate fountain because you need to keep up your energy and good mood in order to stick to a diet! (Also because, mercifully, virtual calories do not add inches to IRL waistlines!)

Beverages offered are champagne, non alcoholic sparkling apple cider and pure water from the Water Cooler for the 21Century.

The New Year fireworks are still visible through the window and the list of New Year resolutions is still on the table.

On the pin board there are some invitations and reminder notes:

A Shelfari book shelf from http://www.shelfari.com/  has been set up to keep track of the books we resolve to read and the Do It Yourself projects for the new decade are sitting there waiting to be assembled. These ones were Christmas gifts to the Dabrowski dogs- a dog treadmill from and pet chime wireless door bell

In order to manage all these intended activities the Life Balance Wheel is displayed on the whiteboard –see http://www.giftedresources.org/jo/blog/?p=781

The Dabrowski Dogs make New Year resolutions

I realised listening to the Dabrowski dogs dictating their New Year resolutions that some people make resolutions that will be almost impossible for them to keep, some play it safe by resolving to do something they already enjoy doing, some make resolutions aimed at self improvement and fulfilment, some have idealistic visionary goals which cannot be reached solely by their own actions and some avoid making resolutions altogether.

Here is the transcript of the Dabrowski Dogs New Year Resolution making session.

Psycho Motor: I resolve to … There goes Caramel Cat … excuse me

Intellectual: I resolve to become thoroughly familiar with Wikipedia http://www.wikipedia.org/ , Cybrary Man’s Educational websites catalogue to the Internet http://cybraryman.com/index.html and Hoagies the all things gifted website http://hoagiesgifted.org/

Sensual: I resolve to experience Aromatherapy, to have a weekly session at the Paws for Poise Cyber dog wash bus and to sample cuisine from as many sources as possible

Psycho Motor: I resolve to NOT chase… Oh look, there’s a cyberbike! … Excuse me

Imaginational:  I resolve to spend more time in prayer and meditation about how we can make it become ‘on Earth as it is in Heaven’ and thinking about what a perfect world should be.

Psycho Motor: I resolve not to chase stuff!

Emotional: I don’t want to make any resolutions because if I make them I MUST keep them and I can’t really guarantee that I could keep them. And if I didn’t keep them I would feel sad and guilty and as if I had let down people who were watching me to get inspiration. If I didn’t keep my resolutions it might make other people fail to keep theirs too and then I would feel really, really sad and guilty. Of course, if I did manage to keep them then I would be a good inspiration and that would make me over-the-moon happy. Or else it would make other people feel worse if they were not able to keep their own resolutions.
And I don’t know what resolutions I could make that would be sufficiently meaningful and that I would still be able to keep!
